Happy New Year!

I'm accepting the 50/50 Challenge for 2012,  but understand I'm not very optimistic considering time is very precious and I'm usually found working/eating/napping during my leisure time. It'll be fun and it's worth a shot!

In short I have ONE full year to read 50 books and watch 50 movies (no rereads/repeats). It sounds do-able, but remember there are only 52 weeks in a year, so that's basically movie and a book in a week. At first I thought the movies would be a breeze, but after considering I've been watching television shows lately and the fact that I've suspended my Netflix account on through March, this may be a toughie after all.

I will be keeping track of my reads and viewings with this blog and a bookshelf I created on Goodreads.com.

To cap-off my 2011, I finished Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto this morning. It was a quick and delightful read, which is kind of odd since it's essentially two stories about loss and despair. 3/5 Stars. The last movie I recall watching from 2011 is probably The Hangover.

Happy reading! Happy watching! Happy New Year!
